Happy stripes at Nordstrom...

Sunday, September 2, 2012

It makes me happy when my children have nice socks!  I love the quality and look of the kids' socks from Etiquette Clothiers.  Their colors are beautiful and they wash really well.  I was so excited to see today that Nordstrom 1) carries Etiquette and 2) marked down most of their inventory by 40%.  Better yet, Nordstrom now offers free shipping and free returns on all purchases.  These 2-packs of cheerful, stripey socks have been marked down to $8.90!  And the gift boxes of six baby socks (0-12 months) have been marked down to $19.90 (33% off).  You really will love these socks.  They do not stretch out and slide perfectly into shoes... even when worn by squirmy toddlers.

Hanna Andersson stripe sleeper

One more stripey thing for this Memorial Day weekend.  I so love Hanna Andersson striped pajamas.  In fact, there are certain comfort-motivated members of my family who occasionally go on strike and will only wear HA long john pajamas because of the soft knit fabric and the flat-lock seams that never chafe or rub the wrong way.  And man, do they ever last!  Some of our more loved pairs are going strong after almost five years of wearing and washing.  The retail price for these pajamas can be very tough to choke down ($32-$42).  I am always scouring Ebay, the Hanna Andersson outlets and now even Costco (more on that later) for discounted Hannas.  I was so pleased when Nordstrom started carrying HA jammies because their sale prices are much lower than what you typically find at the Hanna Andersson stores.  And today I saw this classic green striped baby sleeper (which, incidentally, is perfect for little babies day or night) on sale for $19.90, free shipping and free returns.  Buy it a couple of sizes too big and it will last... those cuffs roll really well.
