Huge discounts on Britax car seats at Amazon...

Thursday, May 9, 2013

Does anyone need a convertible car seat?  Britax has been a trusty (though pricey) favorite for years.  Their newer car seats are among the safest around, loaded with high-tech safety features in addition to being ultra comfortable and easy to clean.  Plus, the three pictured here fit a newborn up to a child weighing 70 pounds!  My kids always slept so well in their Britax car seats and that alone is worth its weight in gold.  The three models above (the three higher-end models of the Britax car seat line), the Boulevard, the Pavilion and the Advocate (left to right), have been marked down nearly 30% on Amazon, but qualify for an additional 20% off through May 31st with the coupon code below.  And shipping is free, free, free.  These are the lowest prices I could find anywhere on these very high-quality car seats.  Here are the after-discount prices and links:

Britax Boulevard 70-G3 $319.99  $182.76
Britax Pavilion 70-G3 $339.99  $194.18
Britax Advocate 70-G3 $379.99  $215.99

Britax also has a great line of car seat accessories including a cup holder (carefully check your exact car seat model before purchasing this), a travel bag, a side-hanging storage pouch, seat protectors and infant positioners.

  1. It is actually a misstatement that these are the safest - they must do some good marketing! If you look on consumer reports the safest carseat is the Cosco Scenera - which you can regularly find at Walmart or on amazon for under $50. And it's SOO much lighter and easier to work with than Britax ones. So at about 1/4 the price even with your discount I'd say that's a real deal!

    1. Thanks for the note... $50 is a great deal and the Scenera does get great safety ratings, though it has a weight limit of 40 pounds versus 70 for the Britax and it is lacking the side impact protection. It is also nearly impossible to install securely rear-facing in many vehicles and the overall score for the Scenera on Consumer Reports is not as high as that of the Britax Boulevard. My statement from the post was that Britax makes car seats that are "among the safest" around... and this is true. Britax car seats are very, very safe (in part because they are easy to install properly). They are pricey (as I mentioned in the post), but many parents want a really cushy, comfortable seat with fabric and padding that will hold up to years of abuse. Britax delivers. I'm just trying to save those parents some money!

    1. Hi Katherine! I had a hard time getting another Amazon promotion code to work earlier today for some shoes. Maybe something is haywire with their system. I did, however, just try to add a Britax Boulevard and a Pavilion to may cart to test the code and it worked. Let me know how you fare... you could always call Amazon's customer service and they will help you out if you have no success on your own. Good luck, Katherine!

      Anyone else having issues?

    2. Katherine... one more thought. Did it give you the message that your promotion could not be applied to your order, or did the price just not reflect the discount? Because if it was the latter, I noticed that the promotion is not applied to the price until you are at the final stage of checkout. I hope that helps! If not, see if customer service can sort it out.

  3. I was actually having a problem with the promocode as well. Just when I put in the code, it says "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase." And I tried it at the final stage of checkout as well, and it still didn't work. I'll try customer service, but in the meantime, any other ideas?

  4. You have to be a Prime member to use the code I believe. Worked fine for me but a friend of mine who does not have Prime couldn't get it to work for her either. Hope that helps! You could always sign up for the free trial.

  5. I just tried this and the promo code didn't work, but I contacted customer service and the woman was very nice to work with. I placed the order without the coupon code and she said they should refund the amount to my card. Hope this helps!
    Thanks for posting this deal!

  6. I am having trouble too. Customer Service told me I have to be an Amazon Mom member to get the discount. When i told her my friend was a member and the code wasn't working for her, she sent me the list of items that qualify, and no Britax seats are on the list! "It may be the item that she's purchasing, it is only for specific items, you can find those here: http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=amb_link_374609182_1?ie=UTF8&node=6628432011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=151F2VZ24YBAWEMA33AZ&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=1549111762&pf_rd_i=1001156431."

  7. Update: I talked to another customer service person, and told them that I joined Amazon Mom specifically for the deal on this item, and that my friend was able to get it on discount last week, and he applied the code for me. So, it might just be a matter of getting the right customer service rep. I do think that even if they had limited the quantities of each item that qualified for the discount that they should have advertised that. So, in my opinion, it is only fair that they honor the code if they still have quantities left (which they still do.)

    1. Hey, Ginger! I am so sorry that this has been so complicated. I am just glad that you got the discount. I have never heard of so many issues with a promotion from Amazon! Let's hope that this was a fluke...

Enjoy your new discounted car seat and the rest of your week. Thanks for keeping us all updated.

  8. Its purpose is to minimize rotational forces from the effects of a forward or rear car crash. You can quickly adjust the harness shoulder height, without removing the straps. The baby's head, neck and body is contained when a crush occurs, because of the energy-absorbing foam on its sides. This is what they call the true-side impact feature of the car
