Great girls' dress and skirt for a song at J. Crew...

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

My previous post today looked so drab in the color department that I thought I would reward our eyes this afternoon for their patience.  The additional 30% markdown on all sale items is still happening at J. Crew.  And because there is free shipping on all of their kids' clothes every day, I thought that I should highlight a few gems from the sale.  I so love J. Crew's two wonderful orangey-red colors, "brilliant flame" and "modern red".  These two colors are as versatile as neutrals in that they go with everything from burgundy to chartreuse to pink just effortlessly.  This cute little sweatshirt pocket dress in modern red is comfortable, versatile and season-less.  It is as easy to picture it in the dead of winter with a turtleneck underneath it and warm tights and boots as it is to see it thrown on over a swimsuit at the beach and worn with sandals.  I love dresses like this because they translate into buying fewer pieces of clothing which, in turn means roomier closets, budgets and laundry hampers.  Win, win, win.  The dress has been marked down from $42.50 to $17.49 with the additional discount (you must input the coupon code below).

Moving to the right in the image above, I have had my eye on that jade wool flannel swing skirt all winter.  It started out at $78 and now (with the additional 30% off) is just $20.99.  It is only available in sizes 3 and 4, but it is so, so lovely.  If you would like to create a cool monochromatic look with the skirt, there are even tights on sale for $6.99 in exactly the same shade ("retro jade").  What a great jolt of color for the holidays next year, right?

This additional markdown deal ends April 7th at midnight, EST.
